How this first-goal demo works
The original skater, goalie, Action, Power Play and Shorthanded card values are used. A player roll reads the ODD or EVEN result; a shot needs a separate two-dice roll on the Scoring Chart. SPCT + the shooter’s Player Effect − the goalie reduction gives the scoring rating. Ratings below 1 use the lowest chart row; 26 or higher uses the 26+ row.
Passes, offside, turnovers, rebounds, penalties and injuries are resolved before play continues. Each Action Card represents 30 seconds. Lines rotate after five cards, with rebounds finished before a change. This exhibition continues until the first goal; there is no regulation-time result or pulled goalie.
Toronto has two forward lines and only two defencemen, who skate on both lines. Jack Coughlin’s F card fills the second center position. Edmonton uses three lines. Injuries with no suitable bench replacement are disregarded, as in the rulebook.
